THE MARTIN RESIDENCE

The Martin Residence, located in downtown Fargo has a historic feel from the outside, but endless opportunities for design on the inside. This condominium is now their forever home, so it is essential that universal design was incorporated into the home. Additionally, the design was created so a person from any age group and ability will be able to navigate the space safely. The design is timeless to go with the historical look of the building but also so many renovations won’t have to be done in the future. Many products, materials, and appliances have been chosen with the environment in mind, as well as the longevity of the products.

Entertaining is a must for the Martin’s. The design has an open concept floor plan of the main public spaces including the living room, kitchen, and dining room to maximize entertaining potential. There is natural light radiating throughout these spaces from the large picture windows, and window treatments are applied where necessary. The home flows smoothly from one room to another with wide walkways that account for a universal design. The color palette involves earthy tones like deep blue accents and golden yellow hues to blend the inside to the outside as well as includes plenty of natural light.
